ONE Houston helps community members, students, and educators host small informal meetings in which people are able to share the stories and experiences pertaining to educational issues. Hearing the voices of the community allows ONE Houston leaders to develop a deep and personal understanding of the issues that affect our city.
The ONE Houston Issues Assembly allows House Meeting participants to come together in a large group (200+ attendees) to discuss, debate, and decide what are the most pressing issues facing education in the Houston area.
Issue Action Teams
Issue Action Teams are built around the issues that were singled out during the community Issues Assemblies. These teams meet on a regular basis to identify concrete actions that can be taken to affect change around issues like exclusionary discipline, community resources, and supporting immigrant, undocumented, and refugee students.
